They are quickly becoming a valued local resource, with people regularly depositing and taking books. The scheme allows residents to take and leave books for free, fostering a sense of community while encouraging a love of reading among both children and adults.

Weāre often told that dyslexia is a 'gift' or a 'superpower,' but for many adults, the day-to-day reality feels more like carrying a backpack full of bricks. After making the same mistake twice in relatively quick succession at my former workplace, a manager said to me āare you lazy, or are you stupid?ā. The mistake itself was small. I had sent a quote in pounds instead of dollars. But it happened twice, and what my manager saw as carelessness, was actually my dyslexia.

Their work has recently been supported with a £2,500 donation from the Midsomer Norton-based Sperring Charity. Since 1990, the Sperring Charity has supported hundreds of local people in Midsomer Norton and surrounding areas with grants ranging from £50 to £5,000.
